Driving while impaired is quickly becoming a plague on our Triangle highways. In the last forty five days, more than thirty area drivers have been cited for DUI. These drivers now face legal and financial obstacles that will haunt them for years. These include more than $19,000. In fines, fees, and costs associated with their possible conviction as well as reducing their career opportunities in an already contracted job market.  There is no upside to a DUI.
